1) On 11.12.2024 Murray Robert Blake responded to my advert for a carpenter's job. 2) He came at about 3.30 pm and collected $1,900.00 from me for a job to instal a door frame and a wooden door for $2,900.00 and provide an invoice without a cooling-off period as required by DOCEP. 3) Thereafter he refused to be contacted for an invoice for his invoice of $1,900.00 for which he had refused to do so. 4) He finally came up with a message saying that he had made the purchases of $1,400.00 instead of $1,900.00 and is not accountable for the $500.00 he had collected from me. 4) I informed him that I rejected the delivery of the purchases for $1,400.00 and wanted a refund of the $1,900.00 which he refused to date i.e. 24.12.2024 on the ground that his invoice does not have the mandatory cooling off period of 10 days (Without Cooling Off Period). 5) By reason of Without Cooling Off Period, we have not entered into an Unsolicited Consumer Agreement according to the law as provided by DOCEP (Void Unsolicited Consumer Agreement). 6) By reason of his Uncontactability and the Discrepancy between the Price of the Materials which he has admitted to be $1,400.00 instead of $1,900.00 (Lack of Accouontability) I have asked for the Refund which he had refused (Refund Refused). 7) Till today 24.12.2024 he is no longer contactable or had refused to be contacted.

In this industry it's extremely hard to quote. On initial inspection there maybe an obvious issue but its not until a complete investigation is done, that the real cause of the problem is often discovered. One of the advantages to having the issue addressed correctly, is that the chance of it returning is significantly reduced or eliminated altogether. If there are further costs associated with this process to what has been quoted, I'll make sure I physically show or send photos to the customer of the damaged parts and seek their approval before proceeding with any repairs
